□ Where you can buy a transportation card : Convenience Store
(May not always be available; try big chain companies)
□ Transportation card re-charging station : Subway station interior, convenience store
– Minimum amount of charge: 1,000 won
– Balance refund : Available at a convenience store excluding deposit of 500 won
□ Transportation charges
Basic subway fare: 1250 won
– Additional charges apply for Airport Railroad and Shinbundang Line.
-10 to 50km : 100 won per 5km
– After 50 km: 100 won per 8 km
– Bus fares vary depending on different types: trunk buses, branch buses, wide area buses, loop buses and village buses.
□ Transfer
– Transit valid time: 30 minutes
– Maximum number of transfers: 4
– Transfer not possible within the same bus or subway line.
– Not charged when you tag your card at a transfer gate.
□ ‘Discover Seoul Pass’!
– 24-hour pass, 48-hour pass, 72-hour pass.
– Free entry to 42 tourist attractions and 63 discounts.
– Free one-time airport railway ride from the airport to the city or from the airport to the airport.
– These pass cards can be used as transportation cards after the pass duration period over.
