“Kambu in Mystery Island” is a 3D slapstick Animation TV series, produced and presented by CharacterKorea co., LTD. (“CHAKO”) The animation is mainly targeted at the children of age 5 to 7, but its imaginative stories and goofy, yet adorable hero Kambu, along with his group of friends, has successfully captivated the audience of all ages.
Kambu and his four companions — round little bird Boom, the eager advisor Jolly, Ven the imaginative, but not always so successful inventor, and Packy the animated package box — run a small post office on the Mystery Island. Kambu has to deliver all kinds of packages to his friends, each living in six different villages on the island. “Icy Ice village,” where Twoti the sea lion lives, is composed of countless big and small ice cubes. “Multiple Layer Tree Branch village” is divided into several layers, so TG the baby tiger can play hide-and-seek any time he wants. TG is the master of the game because he has the ability to change his colors like a chameleon. Robi brothers live in “Dry Sand village,” located in the middle of a desert, while Globe the blow fish lives in “Underwater Bubble village.” There is also “Green Grass village,” and “Deep Dark Underground village.” Where Biti and Moleing lives respectively.
Although Kambu has no intentions whatsoever to seek troubles, he often finds himself in a situation. Every time Kambu tries to make delivery to a friend, various unanticipated events occur to him, events beyond one’s imagination. Every episode is full of surprises; the audience begins to wonder what adventures await Kambu next.
First created in 2002, “Kambu in Mysterious Island” prized the Best Korean Animation award by the ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2007, and another one by KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency) in the following year. It also won the Most Outstanding Character/Animation Award in ‘KIDS JURY’ Pre-School’ area at MIPCOM Junior held at Cannes, France, in 2009. And the list continues.
Ever since the animation began to air internationally starting March 2011, “Kambu in Mystery Island” has gathered growing number of fans all over the world, and still continues to charm many more.
